Pension Wise is a service introduced by the Government in April 2015

The service helps you understand your options at retirement if you have a defined contribution pension (that is a pension pot that you can decide what to do with, rather than a final salary or defined benefit pension).

There are three channels of guidance available:

• Website: Pension Wise
• Face to face appointment through Citizens Advice Pension Wise Centres booked through your local Citizens Advice at a location near you. Your local Citizens Advice can book the appointment for you if:You are over 54 years old (or able to access the pension because of illness or because you have inherited it).You have a pension pot that you can decide how to spend.You are making the decisions about your pension in the next 6 months (any longer and it may be too soon for the guidance to be beneficial).Contact your nearest Citizens Advice service for details and to book an appointment
